Like mother like son
The nine-month-old son of a woman in Meerut, who has been named Asia’s tallest by Limca Books of Records, is over three feet tall now with doctors saying he is poised to follow his mother into the record books. “It is not normal for a nine-month-old baby to be three feet one inch tall and weigh 22.5 kg,” said a doctor at the Madhu Jindal Hospital here. “It is also not always necessary that children of tall parents resemble their parents in height. But this boy (Karan) has all the signs of emulating his parents,” the doctor said.
Karan was born to Svetlana Singh and Sanjay Singh last June. He was 63 cm and weighed 5.5 kg at birth. Svetlana, who is seven feet and six inches tall, is recognised by the Limca Book of Records as Asia’s tallest woman. Sanjay, a naturopath, himself is six feet six inch tall. The Singhs live in the Defence Colony here. Svetlana, who is a basketball player, said Karan basically depends on breast feeding and cattle milk. She hoped Karan emulated her “I wish he becomes a famous basketball player,” she said.
