The tall and short of car shopping.

Drivers come in all shapes and sizes and you would think that cars would be designed to accommodate that. But that's not always the case. Consumer Reports' (US) just published New Car Preview has useful information on which cars will suit tall people.
Vehicles evaluated by Consumer Reports came in all sizes as did the test drivers!. One of the more than 60 tests they face is how well they fit different sized test drivers (including 'talls' 6'3" and over ) with relation to seat comfort, visibility, and where the controls are.
Some cars, like the Chevy Cavalier, are poor choices if you're on the tall side because of the lack of legroom and it may come as no shock that small sports cars like the Audi TT don't work well for tall people.
But there are cars like the Volkswagen Passat that are good for both tall and short drivers something to consider if the drivers in your home come in all sizes.
Consumer Reports says the top ten vehicles for taller drivers are the Acura MDX, Acura TL, Acura RL, Audi A6, Honda Pilot, Nissan Altima, Volvo V70, Volkswagen Passat and 2002 Honda Accord and Mercedes-Benz E320.
Consumer Reports says taller drivers should avoid the following cars: Chevrolet Cavalier, Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Dodge Ram, GMC Envoy, Hyundai Tiburon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Volkswagen New Beetle, Saturn SL2, Toyota Celica and Toyota Tacoma.
