Too tall to be buried
Jeremy Meredith18, was a murder victim last month when he was shot and
killed. His family's problems didn't end there though as they have to pay
for the funeral and burial costs. The problem is that Jeremy was very tall, 6
foot 7", and so he needs a custom-made casket. His family cannot afford
this and is appealing to the state's victim-compensation fund.
Delawrence Shepard, manger at Lawrence A. Jones funeral home, says they’re
volunteering their funeral services to the Meredith family, until they're
reimbursed by the state. However, the family has to pay for the custom made
casket, as well as the cemetery's burial plot. The family needs to come up with
$2,500, which they don't have.
